Biography

Mexican television and theater actress Montserrat Marañón studied Dramatic Literature and Theater at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters UNAM in Mexico City. She received the 2005-2006 FONCA scholarship in the category of Cabaret Performers, with which she was able to create the play Memorias de un géiser. Some of her teachers have been José Caballero (acting improvement), Enrique Singer (character creation), Alberto Lomnitz (character creation), Boris Schoeman (staged reading), Omar Argentino (improvisation), Jesusa Rodríguez (dramaturgy for cabaret) among others. She performs in cabaret shows, some of them with the master Jesusa Rodríguez. For 20 years she has been a guest actress of the group Seña y Verbo (theater for the deaf) working in productions for children and adults.
